Carowind's first all wood coaster was the Scooby Doo coaster which opened in 1975, one year before Thunder Road. Shown here in it's original color scheme, this was Carowind's second coaster and the star attraction for the new Hanna-Barbera Land kiddie section. It was renamed Scooby's Ghoster Coaster in 1995 and the area became known as Animation Station, replacing the Hanna-Barbera theme. Finally in 2005, the coaster was renamed yet again. Animation Station was out and Nickelodeon Central was in. A new color scheme and a new name, the Fairly Odd Coaster. And yet another name change for the 2009 season. This coaster is now called "Woodstock Express" to coincide with the new "Planet Snoopy" theme that replaces the former Nickelodeon theme. This is the perfect wooden coaster for beginners and Carowinds is very fortunate to have a junior sized wooden coaster as they are rare.
