When the covered bridge opened in 1973, it was the only link between the Queen's Colony and Country Crossroads area. Thankfully, the covered bridge has managed to escape the wrecking ball through all the changes the park has endured over the decades. At one time, large goldfish and carp were plentiful in the waters below the bridge. For a quarter, you could get a handfull of pellets and watch the fish go crazy! These large carp were also plentiful in the waters around Pirate Island as well.
The covered bridge as it appears in 2013. Gone, are the large, feisty schools of carp, but the water is still dyed with that "nowhere-in-nature" blue, that is prevalent in many theme park waters. Today, the bridge is a link between Planet Snoopy and Carolina R.F.D.
